Sensei Adam Smith

The founder of Rikido Shotokan Karate, is a passionate martial artist with years of experience and a deep love for karate. A two-time Australian Karate Champion, National medalist and current Karate SA State Team Member, he’s no stranger to the competitive side of the sport. But for Adam, karate has always been about more than just winning medals—it’s about personal growth, discipline, and building confidence.

His journey has taken him around the world, training with top instructors in Japan and America. These experiences gave him a unique blend of traditional techniques and modern approaches, which he brings to every class he teaches.

Adam’s teaching style is approachable, supportive, and grounded in the belief that anyone can thrive in karate, no matter their age or experience. Whether you're looking to master self-defense, compete, or just try something new, Sensei Adam is dedicated to helping you reach your goals while having fun along the way.

Sensei Lorenzo pancotto


From a young age, Sensei Lorenzo Pancotto displayed a deep passion for karate, beginning his training in Italy with unwavering dedication. Under the guidance of esteemed instructors, he honed his technique and discipline, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to the martial art. As he progressed, his skill and determination led him to compete at the highest levels.

Seeking new opportunities to grow and challenge himself, Lorenzo made the move to Australia, where he continued to make his mark in the karate world. A former state team member, he has proven himself on the competitive stage, claiming titles such as the 2024 South Australian state title and the Adelaide Grand Slam.

His dedication to the art has taken him across the world, including training in Japan at the historical Hoitsugan Dojo, where he refined his skills in the birthplace of karate. With years of experience, discipline, and passion, Sensei Lorenzo continues to inspire and train the next generation of martial artists
